Why "Knifting" is not really "Knitting"

Comments

[this is good]
A lot of knitting snobs covet and/or own knitting machines, which is just a more complex form of automatic knitting. The truth is that there are many different types of knitters--some like the act of knitting, some just want the nice sweater or pair of socks, some will use Boye needles and acrylic yarn and others won't touch anything but silk or cashmere and namaste glass needles. I have dealt with this type of snobbery in other communities and have come to learn to accept myself, my tastes, and my process. I think you're on the right track. If you like to knift, knift away.
Thanks, Kiera! I agree completely!

There are many different types of knitting. I don't understand the 'looming knitting is cheating' idea, but I suppose there will always be people who feel the need to be better than others, whether it's with knitting or something else. I just love making stuff. I don't even need a person to make it for, I just make it.
